3. Airport Beach

The icon of Scotland, Barra Airport Beach is located on Barra Island, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland.  British Airways give you a ride from Glasgow to Barra Airport. When the high tide comes in, the airport is washed away and at late afternoon cars lights provide visibility to the pilot.  The beach has a foolproof security system to give protection to the visitors as the plane can land anytime. The sign there reads, “Keep off the beach. When the windsock is flying and the airport is active.”

Colored Glass Beach is situated along the coastline of MacKerricher State Park in California. This colored glass layer along the beach is formed by the public dump that people used to throw after the Second World War. The disposed materials included a large amount of glass materials. With the passage of time, the water tides turned it into glass shards. Officially disposing off materials into this beach has been banned but this phenomenon has given the sand of the beach a colored glass layer.

8. Bowling Ball Beach

This exceptional “Bowling Ball Beach “is located near Schooner Gulch California.  The beach has got its name because rocks present there are round and uniform in shape and size giving the effect of boulders. These rocks are formed by natural phenomena. These round rocks are also called concretions and are produced as a result of Cenozoic mudstone that once encircled them. The Pacific Ocean has corroded the muddy balls making them look like ‘Bowling Balls’. These bowling balls surround the whole beach.

9. Red Sand Beach

The Red Sand beach is another exceptional Beach with red sand surrounding the blue waters. It is located at the south of Hana Bay. The cliff edge and slippery stones are dangerous and tourists should wear water boots while climbing the rocks.  The red color of the sand is due to the cinder cone hill and swimming in the waters of red sand beach is a unique experience.
